Recycled Plastics in Asphalt Paving Mixtures via the Dry Process
Recorded October 27, 2025
This webinar presents findings from NCHRP project 09-66, Mechanical Properties of Laboratory-Produced Recycled Plastic Modified Asphalt Binders and Mixtures. The study provided guidance on selecting post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, laboratory procedures for adding PCR plastics in asphalt mixtures via the dry process. Attendees will gain insight to the global issue of waste plastics, learn recommendations on the types of recycled plastics that can be used in asphalt paving mixtures, and discover ongoing field studies to assess the effects of recycled plastics on pavement performance.
